RESOLUTION 11 09-12-03

WHEREAS, Financial Marketing Concepts (FMC), Inc., of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, a company in the benefits program market for over 25 years, is sponsoring a free discount prescription card and wants to make this card available to all eligible residents (age 18 and older) of Shelby County; and

WHEREAS, Shelby County staff has performed review of the program and met with officials of the program to discuss its offerings and benefits to County residents, recommends the offering of the discount prescription card known as Coast2Coast Rx Card for distribution to Shelby County residents.  The Coast2Coast Rx Card is free, does not require registration before using it, and can be used at all major pharmacy chains and many independent pharmacies in all 5O states;

WHEREAS, the Shelby County Commissions endorses this program as a benefit to the County, and hereby directs the County Manager to administrate the program on behalf of Shelby County and enter into contract with Financial Marketing Concepts, for use of the discount prescription card by residents, conduct a joint press conference to launch the program, and provide a link between the website of the County and FMC to provide information about the program.
